How do I place an order?

Please add your product (you will need to select the size) to your basket and follow the check out process. You can also use the search bar for a particular word or product.

Can I return or exchange an item?

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes! Please see our shipping information here.

 

Do I need an account to place an order?

No, you can check out as a guest. Creating an account is optional and may make future purchases quicker.

 

Do you accept Euros?

Yes, however this is on via the PayPal option on our website. You can also contact us to arrange a Euro bank transfer if preferred.

 

When will my order be sent?

Whilst we endeavour to keep all items in stock and available for immediate despatch, this may not always be possible. In the event that an item is temporarily out of stock we will contact you within 24 hours and advise you of an anticipated delivery time.

If you have ordered multiple items you will be given the option of waiting and receiving your items all together, or you can choose to have them delivered in more than one consignment.

Please note, as with all Online Shopping, your completion of the checkout process does not explicitly guarantee we are able to supply the goods ordered.

 

I haven’t received my order yet – what should I do?

Please check your tracking number for international orders, and for UK orders please contact us with your order number and we can trace the parcels whereabouts.

 

How can I track my order?

International orders are all tracked with tracking number provided via email. If you have not received a tracking number please contact sales@captaincurrey.com with your order number to receive a tracking number.

 

My order hasn’t gone through, what should I do?

Sometimes the web payment page has timed out, or you are trying to pay in euros directly on our website. This unfortunately does not work, so please change the currency to GBP if you wish to pay with your card directly. Or EUROS to then pay via PayPal. Any other issues please contact us.

 

Are there custom charges for international orders?

We ship internationally, and each country has different custom rules. Please note that you as the customer are responsible for any custom duties. We include a customs form on the parcel. For more info please contact your government customs info page.

 

Product Information & Care

How can I look after my Lockspike and Rigging Kit?

To keep the tools in best condition, we recommend washing the salt water off after use and store dry.

If corrosion appears, and moving parts become stiff, we suggest using graphite grease between the spring and side scales to remove corrosion to allow it to move.

 

Can you engrave Lockspike / Hip Flask?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer engraving, however there are some places which offer this, so please try locally to yourself.

 

How do I look after my Hip Flask?

We recommend rinsing after use and not storing anything in this. Please leave the lid off until this is dry for storing.

 

How to prevent my Marlin Spike from going rusty?

We suggest wiping with oily rag to prevent rusting, and rinsing with fresh water to remove salt before storing. You can also use emery paper to remove rust.

 

How can I sharpen my Rigging Tool?

To sharpen a rigging blade, we recommend holding this at a 20° angle to an oilstone. If you have already sharpened to this angle then reduce to a finer angle.

 

Do your Leather Sheaths have belt loops?

Yes our real leather rigging sheaths have 2 inch belt loops to ensure you can carry these practically.

 

Can you hem Corduroy and Moleskin Trousers?

Yes we an hem your trousers, please note that these are non returnable once hemmed to your leg length so please ensure you have the correct waist and leg length.

 

How best to wash my Crewman Cowes Trousers?

We recommend turning your trousers inside out and washing at 30°C and using non biological powder can also protect the fabric.

Where are your products made?

We are a fairly unique business in that we manufacture our fabrics as well as the garments and tools we retail. We design and manufacturer mainly in England, and have some small textile lines in mainland Europe. All our products are made to our designs and specifications to make the products we love, building from the inception of the business in the 1940s.

 

Do you have any stockists?

Yes, we have stockists for different products worldwide, with products depending on the specific shop and needs.
